David Beckham's simple lines

David Beckham was given easy lines for his acting debut so that he couldn't mess them up.

The football legend makes his first leap into acting in the upcoming football film 'Goal!' - which also stars Anna Friel and has cameos from Alan Shearer and Kieron Dyer.

But director Danny Cannon has revealed that although David was "a true professional", movie bosses didn't want to take any chances.

He revealed to Britain's Total film magazine: "David really wanted to be in it and he was great for us but we didn't kid ourselves. We kept it very simple".

David's pop star wife Victoria recently turned down a role in a Hollywood movie because she wanted to stay at home and look after her three sons, Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
