When you look at Nicole Richie you think outrageous party girl, Paris Hilton's pal, socialite, The Simple Life, and all that good stuff. What you don't think about is the dark past. Nicole was adopted by Lionel and Brenda Richie at the age of 2. Yes in fact Nicole Richie was born Nicole Camille Escovedo. Her real parents are rumored to be a guy from Lionel's band(Peter Michael Escovedo) and the mother is unknown, but is said to be Cocasian with blonde hair. Though you might think Nicole was living the easy life from there on, you're wrong! Lionel wasn't exactly a great father figure, he recently admitted on Oprah, he was hardly there in Nicole's childhood. To fill the void of not having Lionel around, she started going out late, and soon went into drugs. "It was so easy to sneak out", Nicole explains on Oprah. When Brenda and Lionel split up, Nicole was devastated, and her late nights got even later. She felt as though Lionel broke up with her as well. Nicole attended & graduated from The Buckley School with her best friend Paris Hilton. Though school was also being cut here and there for drugs. In her 20's Nicole started Heroin."I was a trash can--I took everything" she says. She was pulled over by a cop for speeding and was found with Heroin. Nicole was scared to death, so scared she went into Rehab. In Rehab she found herself, and it's the best thing that has happened to her. She is currently a member of fledgling rock band "Darling" along with model Josie Maran, and society sisters Soleil and Sofia Alberti.
